A major ship construction yard located in San Diego has immediate openings for experienced Marine Electricians.
Electricians will interact with other Marine Electricians, supervisors and managers and will be responsible for installing, repairing and hooking up equipment for all electrical services on the ship.
Major job duties include:
-Prepares work areas, drills holes and grinds metal surfaces
-Installs, welds, and hooks up electrical equipment
-Lays out, pulls, rips out, repairs and installs cable and conduit
-Tests electrical equipment
-Reads composite blueprints, computer printouts and Navy standards manual
Job requirements and qualifications:
-Must have knowledge about electrical, mechanical and ship building practices
-Ability to use power and hand tools and read composite blueprints
-Must pass assessment
-Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces and to access and move around ship safely
-Must be a U.S. citizen
-Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Standard work week is M-F and occasional overtime may be required. 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts available.
