The Safety Officer reports to the OIM. You will be responsible for the following:
Ensure the effective implementation of the Maersk HSE Management System in compliance with the Company HSE Policy and regulatory requirements, including the development and maintenance of injury prevention safety awareness to promote a proactive onboard safety culture
Facilitation of onboard incident investigation, including management of Synergi incident and hazard management databases.
Actively participate in senior Safety and Operations/Logistics meetings, as relevant.
Audit on a routine basis HSE policies and procedures to continually improve the rig’s overall Health, Safety & Environmental performance.
Management of delivery of rig safety inductions.
Duties also include:
Ensure that PTW system is being effectively implemented by all work teams.
Maintain PTW records control inventory.
Ensure that the Toolbox Talk and Safe Job Analysis system is being effectively implemented and maintained by all work teams.
Maintain SJA control inventory
Coordinate the onboard investigation of all incidents, including accidents and near misses, as directed by the OIM.
Management of incident database.
Ensure that the Hazard identification system is being effectively implemented and maintained by all work teams.
Management of hazard database.
Ensure that incident notification is effectively communicated internally, and externally as directed by the OIM.
Ensure that an investigation, as directed by the OIM, is conducted in a professional and timely manner, including conducting effective interviews and maintaining control of evidentiary data and equipment, as required.
Participate as required in formal investigations involving Client investigation teams.
Ensure that Synergi® incident database is adequately managed.
Actively participate in all relevant safety and operational meetings, where input re. safety will be a relevant factor.
Actively conduct routine and random safety audits.
Maintain all records of routine and random safety audits.
Develop and update rig safety induction presentation.
Manage the delivery of all rig safety inductions.
Maintain all records of inducted personnel.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Past experience at the supervisory level in the offshore industry with the qualifications required for the position in their particular field of work.
