To assist in meeting all the technical requirements and demands of vessel operations and to maintain a fleet of highest safety and technical standards, keeping safety as the number one priority.

 

Reporting to:   Technical Manager West Africa

Reports: Nigerian Port Engineer, 8 Vessel Masters & Chief Engineers

 

 Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • To assist in the management of the companies vessel's equipment, personnel and materials in a safe and cost effective manner.

 

  • To oversee all technical requirements in ensuring complete compliance with the company, customers and regulatory requirements. In addition to interacting with customers on all technical issues as directed by the Technical Manager or Managing Director.

 

  • To know and adhere to all company safety and technical operational policies and management directives and to ensure vessel personnel understand and adhere to same.

 

  • To supervise all Chief Engineers and to insure planned maintenance and other technical activities are carried out in a correct and safe manner.

 

  • To assist with & organize all surveys and statutory vessel inspections. In addition to follow and track all vessel statutory certificates to insure that all surveys and inspections are carried out in due time.

 

  • To be based in Nigeria, but travelling to Gabon/Angola and other West African locations and possibly US GoM.

 

 

Basic requirements and qualifications

 

  • Extensive OSV and AHTS experience in way of service at sea on the capacity of Chief Engineer for no less than ten (10) years Operating and maintaining all shipboard equipment.

 

  • Experience in a supervisory shore side capacity in way of supervising afloat repairs to all shipboard equipment and systems of an OSV/AHTS of no less than five (5) yrs.

 

  • Experience in a supervisory capacity for dry docking repairs.

 

  • Experienced in communications and interaction with regulatory bodies, i.e., ABS, DNV, etc.

 

  • The ability to work with minimal supervision.

 

  • Be knowledgeable and experienced with using computers with Excel spread sheets and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

 

  • English / French speaking an advantage.

 

 

Technical Superintendent: - Package

 

  • Salary: $75,000.00. Per Annum.
  • Local allowance:  80K Naira.
  • Rotation: Two (2) months working / one (1) month time off.
  • Accommodation: company to provide.
  • Transport: company to provide including flight tickets to/from home base/work location.
  • Local Transport: company to provide.
  • Feeding: company to provide.
  • Expenses: company will reimburse all approved reasonable expenses that are supported by receipts/approvals.
