Description of the job : Gearbulk Holding Ltd., Bermuda, is an international shipping company with a fleet of over 70 specialised vessels operating globally. The Group comprises a network of offices based in 16 countries worldwide of which Gearbulk (UK) Ltd., based in Esher, Surrey, is the UK agent for the Group and responsible for providing core commercial, operational and financial management services.

Gearbulk is involved in the transportation of breakbulk and conventional bulk cargoes, using both own open hatch type vessels and chartered vessels. In addition, the Company is involved in various terminal operations.

SHIP OPERATOR

Based: Esher, Surrey

As Ship Operator you will have responsibility for communicating between ships, offices, agents & stevedores, voyage planning, preparation of load/discharge programs, stowage, Port operations, co-ordination of all operational aspects of voyages, including bunkers, claims etc. and providing support and advice for commercial & accounting colleagues.

The position requires a seafaring background to Chief Officer level. General Cargo/Breakbulk experience would be an advantage. The successful candidate must also have good IT skills and, as business is conducted in English throughout the Group, should have written and oral fluency in English.
